Art usually does not become valuable until the death of the artist. Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, Claude Monet, Paul Gauguin, Henri Toulouse Lautrec, El Greco, George-Pierre Seurat and Johannes Vermeer's works are among the most valuable pieces of art in the world. Yet none of them gained recognition until after their deaths.
Buying art from an elderly artist is a good investment. I am old. Most of my family died in their late 60s. I am already in my 70s and probably don't have a whole lot of years left. What can I say? Consider investing in my art. Hopefully it will bring you joy now and will increase in value after I am gone.
And it will allow me to keep painting and will keep a roof over my head (and my dogs Micky and Benny) in my last years.
