Intentaron enterrarnos. No sabían que éramos semillas is a Mexican Proverb. I discovered it when I first came to Mexico and have wanted to do a mixed media piece ever since. I made all the collage papers.

Resistance Art - That Will Be Fun

This is my first piece of Resistance Art. It's a reminder of who we are and even though we are elderly we are the "Sage" elderly and are not to be messed with.

Cuban Jazz

Inspiration: I traveled to Cuba a number of years ago and so enjoyed the Salsa musicians and dancers there.

Mexican Jazz

Inspiration: I have been so very inspired by the jazz of local musician, Eleazar Soto. His music is pure joy.

Mexican Sunset

Inspiration: I often walk down to Lake Chapala and photograph the gorgeous sunsets. The sunset, hills and sunflowers are all collage. I painted the girl from a photograph I took of her marching in a local parade. The parrot was added collage paper.

Sonoma Sunset

Inspiration: I lived in Sonoma County California for many years and loved the golden foothills around me.Although the fields are usually filled with grapevines, I am passionate about gardens and especially love to grow flowers.

How The Light Gets In

Inspiration: "There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in." Leonard Cohen
