Inspiration: Frida Kahlo is an important figure in Mexico. She represents resilience, strength and alchemy, turning pain and trouble into beautiful art. I made this image as a reminder to take life's troubles and turn them into something creative that lifts me and others up.

Cuban Jazz

Inspiration: I traveled to Cuba a number of years ago and so enjoyed the Salsa musicians and dancers there.


Mexican Sunset

Inspiration: I often walk down to Lake Chapala and photograph the gorgeous sunsets. The sunset, hills and sunflowers are all collage. I painted the girl from a photograph I took of her marching in a local parade. The parrot was added collage paper.

Inspiration: I lived in Sonoma County California for many years and loved the golden foothills around me.Although the fields are usually filled with grapevines, I am passionate about gardens and especially love to grow flowers.
